'The Perfect Imbalance'
Continuing with the mixed-clay technique, Amanda attempts to reflect the basic principle of nature: Yin-Yang within the Chinese food context through her tableware series. The black and white unbalanced pieces are presented on a designed wooden seesaw platter that allows the bowls to tilt up and down according to the weight of each bowl as well as the weight of the food that is being served on them. This interactive design allows viewers or diners to take control of its balance, aiming to raise people's awareness on the connection between food and health as well as the importance of balancing in life.
